Wolves manager Mick McCarthy is confident midfielder David Jones will sign a contract extension at Molineux.

McCarthy has been keen for Jones, 25, to agree a longer deal for several months but says he is not concerned that another club may be interested.

"I haven't heard anything from anyone, not a scratch," the Wolves boss told the club website.

"I want Dave to stay. He's got a year left on his contract and we're trying to sort it out."

Jones joined Wolves from Derby in August 2008 and was a key member of the team that finished 15th in the Premier League last season.

"We love having him and we want him to stay and be part of the squad," added McCarthy.

"Hopefully that will get done. I think it will be sorted out fairly quickly."

Although McCarthy is confident over Jones's future, he is less sure where Andy Keogh will be playing after confirming Doncaster are interested in signing the Republic of Ireland international.

"I haven't spoken to [Doncaster manager] Sean O'Driscoll but I spoke to Mickey Walker, their director of football.

"With them signing Billy Sharp I think it is one of those things which would be nice to do," he said.

McCarthy was also quick to emphasise that any deal for Keogh would have to be a permanent one.

"There's no chance of him going out on loan. What would be the benefit to us?"
