Leigh Adams top scored for Swindon with paid 14 |
Swindon remain top of the Elite League table despite losing 47-43 at Peterborough on Monday night. The Robins took the lead in the early stages, but the Panthers fought back in the middle of the meeting, doing enough to hold on for the win. Swindon skipper Leigh Adams scored paid 14 and told BBC Wiltshire he was disappointed not to secure the victory. "It's a tough place to come and Peterborough are good around their own track, we just let it slip in the end." With second placed Wolverhampton winning at Belle Vue, Swindon's lead at the top of the Elite League has been cut to just one point. Both teams have five fixtures remaining of the regular season, and still have to face each other home and away. Adams believes Swindon still hold the advantage over the Midlands rivals in the race to top the table ahead of the play-offs. He said: "It looks like it's going to come down to those Wolves matches which is good for the fans, because it makes it exciting for them. "We've got the team to beat Wolves home and away, we're riding really well at the moment and I think we look solid." Peterborough - Niels-Kristian Iversen 8+1, Claus Vissing R/R, Kenneth Hansen 7+3, Kenneth Bjerre 11+1, Troy Batchelor 6, Ales Dryml 6, Henning Bager 9+3 Swindon - Leigh Adams 13+1, Travis McGowan 5+1, Jurica Pavlic 4+2, Simon Stead 7, Matej Zagar 9, Paul Hurry 0, Mark Lemon 5+1
