Lemon won two of his five races on his Robins debut |
Swindon moved four points clear at the top of the Elite League with a 47-43 win at Poole on Wednesday night. The victory was the Robins first at Wimbourne Road since their return to the top level of speedway in 2004. New signing Mark Lemon scored paid 11 on his Swindon debut and manager Alun Rossiter told BBC Wiltshire he was delighted to finally beat the Pirates. "Lemon was great tonight at what's been a bit of a bogey track for us, so I'm happy to get any points down here." With six meetings left to ride, Swindon have a four point lead over second placed Wolverhampton in the race to finish top of the table going into the play-offs. The teams face each other home and away in that time, but Rossiter thinks away from those vital encounters, it is the Robins who have easier fixtures. "We've got an extra home match compared with Wolves, which is excellent." Poole - Hans Andersen 10+1, Joe Screen 3+1, Leon Madsen 3+1, Bjarne Pedersen 9, Chris Holder 15, Ben Wilson 3, Steve Boxall 0 Swindon - Leigh Adams 8, Travis McGowan 5+2, Jurica Pavlic 4+1, Simon Stead 8+1, Matej Zagar 11, Paul Hurry 1+1, Mark Lemon 10+1
