Salisbury 1-0 Kidderminster

Danny Webb
Danny Webb scored the only goal at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium

Danny Webb's second-half header was enough to send Salisbury City to the top of the early season Blue Square Premier table.

The Wiltshire side are the only team with two wins to their name after a 1-0 victory over Kidderminster Harriers.

Salisbury missed an early chance to take the lead when Dean Coleman saved a penalty from Matt Tubbs after Rob Sinclair had been fouled.

But Webb made no mistake with the night's only goal on 52 minutes.

Salisbury first-team coach Tommy Widdrington told BBC Wiltshire:

"We didn't manage to force the goal in the first half but I couldn't be anything other than positive at half time.

"This was a complete performance, we never really let up.

"A great compliment to a young side who've been thrown in at the deep end."

Kidderminster manager Mark Yates told BBC Hereford and Worcester:

"No excuses as we were beaten by the better side on the day as they were far better than us that is something we have got to get right.

"The sun might have been a problem for the first 10 minutes, but not for 90.

"That is not what we are after and the players know full well that I am not happy."
