Tom P Madsen returned to the Stoke line-up after a dislocated shoulder |
Stoke Potters move into third place in the Premier League after a comfortable victory over Scunthorpe at Loomer Road. Stoke won 56-37 on Saturday, making it four wins from five Premier League meetings for the Potters this season. Skipper Lee Complin (12) and Jason Bunyan (11) were again the main points-scorers for Stoke. Tom P Madsen, who had missed four weeks of action because of a dislocated shoulder, scored eight points on his return to the Potters line-up. However, Stoke are waiting for an update on the fitness of Mark Burrows, who was taken to hospital as a precaution following a crash in heat 11. Victory over Scunthorpe puts Stoke level on points with second-placed King's Lynn, although the Norfolk outfit have a better points difference. Workington are nine points clear at the top of the Premier League, but have rode nine times this season, four more times than Stoke and five more than King's Lynn. The Potters are back in action against the Newport Wasps at Loomer Road on Saturday.
