Bunyan enjoying Loomer Road track

Jason Bunyan
Bunyan has averaged 8.94 in competitive races for Stoke in 2009

Jason Bunyan has said his love for the Loomer Road track was the main reason behind his decision to join Stoke.

The 30-year-old is almost two points ahead of Lee Complin at the top of the Potters' averages for 2009.

Bunyan told BBC Radio Stoke: "Stoke was always a track I wanted to come to. I've always done well there.

"It's been easier for me to overtake because I'm not the greatest starter, and I'm beginning to get that consistency at home now."

Bunyan is currently averaging 8.94 in competitive fixtures, and his sparkling form has been one of the main reasons for Stoke's promising start to the Premier League season.

The Potters have won three of their first four meetings, and will look to extend their unbeaten home record against Scunthorpe at Loomer Road on Saturday.

They recorded a victory and a defeat against the Scorpions earlier in the season, as they were drawn in the same group in the Premier Trophy.
