Mark Burrows has replaced Glen Phillips in the Stoke Potters squad
Stoke Potters manager John Woolridge hopes the added experience of Mark Burrows will be a huge advantage to the team for the rest of the season.
Burrows, 44, replaced the under-performing Glen Phillips in the Potters' line-up in May.
Woolridge told BBC Radio Stoke: "He's 44, he's replaced a 26-year-old, and he's just doing so much better."
Stoke, who are fourth in the Premier League table, take on Somerset at Loomer Road on Saturday.
The Potters are likely to be without Danish rider Tom P Madsen, who dislocated his shoulder in the victory over Newcastle on 23 May.
"I think we'll come away with the points against Somerset," added Woolridge. "We haven't got any away matches until 1 July, which seems a little bit odd.
"But we've made a fairly good start at Loomer Road, which we haven't done in the last few years.
"We're out of the cup competitions, so we're focusing on the league now and we're thinking we can go somewhere in that."
