Cook is unsure Jedrzejak will make the Coventry meeting |
Lakeside Hammers may have to use rider replacement for Thursday night's Elite League meeting at Coventry. They were hoping to use temporary signing Tomasz Jedrzejak in place of the injured Joonas Kylmakorpi. But the Pole is having problems in his home country and may not arrive in time for the trip to the Midlands. "I would say it's touch and go whether he'll be here in time so we're preparing to use rider replacement," co-promoter Jon Cook told BBC Essex. Kylmakorpi has been out with a broken elbow and Lakeside elected to bring in Jedrzejak for a month as cover, rather than rely on the rider replacement facility. "Using rider replacement for a prolonged period just puts pressure on those who have to fill in. "Missing a rider of the quality of Joonas is a blow and with all due respect, you can't quite make up for him by using reserves," added Cook.
