Coventry Bees have added teenage rising star Ricky Wells to their Elite League team for the coming season.

Born in New Zealand but raised in the United States, the 17-year-old has won the American Under-21 Championship for the past two years.

Bees manager Peter Oakes said: "Since the end of last season, a lot of Elite and Premier League clubs have been chasing him.

"But he wanted to join Coventry after his trip over here last year."
