Ricky Wells has decided against joining Eastbourne Eagles for the new Elite League season. The 16-year-old New Zealander wants to remain in the United States as he seeks US citizenship.
Wells' desire to become a US citizen causes the Eagles a problem as it means his average would rise, taking Eastbourne above the points ceiling.
The Eagles recently unveiled a revamped 2008 line-up, headed by Scott Nicholls and Lee Richardson.
