Burnley 1-1 Coventry

Leon Best
Best celebrates scoring the opening goal of the game

A late Chris Eagles strike earned Burnley a draw against Coventry although it was not enough to move Owen Coyle's men into the play-off zone.

Striker Leon Best, wearing a mask as he recovers from a fractured cheekbone, headed home Jordan Henderson's cross to give the visitors a shock lead.

Henderson and Michael Doyle went close before the break and were to rue their misses as Burnley got a deserved goal.

Substitute Eagles superbly lofted the ball over goalkeeper Keiren Westwood.

Burnley manager Owen Coyle:
"We deserved three points and were far and away the best team.

"The lads showed tremendous belief and character to keep going and the goal from Chris Eagles was a quality finish.

"He's been out of the starting line-up for a few games recently due to a chest infection but when he came on he showed the tenacity and drive."

Coventry boss Chris Coleman:
"I think before the game we would have been happy with a point at Burnley. They are going for the play-offs and had just beaten Wolves.

"In the first half we were not in any danger but we sat back for the second half and I'm disappointed with that.

"Sooner or later you are going to concede and in the end we buckled."
