Peterborough asset Jesper B Monberg has said he would like to race for the Panthers next season.
The former Grand Prix star, 31, has spent the past season on loan at Wolverhampton and last rode for Peterborough in 2006.
Monberg told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I am owned by Peterborough so of course it would be good to come back.
"I'm only on a 4.5 average so I can come in at reserve, which is good as I'm at least 6.5 person."
Monberg was part of the Panthers side which claimed the Elite League title in 2006 but team manager Trevor Swales has moved to play down any prospect of a return for the Danish star.
"It's purely conjecture, nothing has been or will be decided until after the AGM in two weeks time," he said.
"People say he's doing well abroad but I don't care what he does abroad, I just want him to do it for Peterborough.
Panthers secured their Elite League status for another season with victory over Monberg's Wolverhampton in the end-of-season relegation play-offs.
Only Karol Zabik is currently confirmed in the Panthers line-up for 2009.
