Peterborough Panthers promoter Mick Bratley says their team-building plans for next year are already being put in to action.
Bratley says they are basing their plans around the team average of 39.90 points agreed by the BSPA last year.
He told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "We'd be against any move away from that.
"We suffered the pain this year, somebody else can suffer the pain next year and I can assure you it's not going to be us."
Bratley said he was still opposed to the points limit imposed on the Elite League clubs, and felt it should be higher.
But, he added: "The teams that finished at the top, except for one, were the teams that wanted this lower-points limit.
"We've never made a secret of the fact that we didn't want a low points limit, we wanted a high points limit.
"We're going to stick with the three-year mandate, and we're not going to suffer the pain we suffered this year."
Karol Zabik is the only rider under contract for next season, but Bratley said all of the their 2008 riders stood a chance of returning, including Danny King who broke his foot in the relegation play-off second leg against Wolverhampton.
He said: "We've got one or two ideas, and me and Trevor have been speaking about it for six to eight weeks.
"We won't know exactly which way we're going until after the BSPA conference in November."
