Bratley severs ties with Panthers

Speedway rider

Mick Bratley has left his role as co-promoter and commercial director at Peterborough Panthers and says he has "severed all ties" with the club.

He will continue to work as an advisor to Panthers captain Hans Andersen, who he arrived to the club with in 2006.

"I've not been very happy with the way the club has been run this season," Bratley told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

"The club has come to a crossroads in the last few days and I feel it's taken the wrong direction."

He added: "It's a tough decision that I have agonised over for the last two months."

He is yet to discuss the future with Andersen but said: "I will definitely be carrying on my work with Hans Andersen, that's for sure.

"Currently he's in the middle of the North Sea on a boat but when it docks I shall be speaking with him."

Bratley said he was proud of his achievements as Panthers commercial director.

"When I took over, the club had a baker and a plumber who sponsored them and I've turned that round," he said.

"I think over the last two and a half years I've pulled in a large six-figure sum for the club."
