Coventry Bees fell to their fifth Elite League defeat in eight days on Monday night, going down 46-43 at Belle Vue.

The Bees held an eight-point lead with four heats left at Kirkmanshulme Lane.

But the exclusion of Rory Schlein and Chris Harris in Heat 13 handed a 5-0 to Belle Vue and Jason Crump and Charlie Gjedde then won it in the final heat.

Bottom-of-the-league Bees put in an improved performance which gives them hope ahead of next Thursday's meeting at mid-table Ipswich.
