Kozza Smith was called up for the Under-21 World Team Cup

King's Lynn were beaten 50-42 at Newcastle after losing Kozza Smith to a late international call-up.

The Australian was drafted into his country's Under-21 squad for the World Team Cup in Germany and missed his club side's Premier League defeat.

The Stars were only able to call up Conference League rider Adam McKinna as a replacement for Smith.

Kevin Doolan's 15-point haul was in vain for The Stars, who trailed for most of the meeting.

Lynn took the first race 5-1 but, by the end of heat nine, Newcastle had raced into a 10-point lead.

John Oliver provided good support for Doolan by taking paid 10. But McKinna failed to register a point from a defeat which leaves King's Lynn fifth in the Premier League.
