Rob Lyon believes the Stars can win the Premier League |
The King's Lynn Stars are back at the Norfolk Arena on Wednesday as they return to Premier League speedway. Two weeks after their last league meeting, The Stars face Newcastle Diamonds with high hopes. Stars' team manager Rob Lyon told BBC Radio Norfolk he was looking forward to the team riding at home again. "The last two meetings at King's Lynn we had two good wins, we want to keep that going against Newcastle and kick off our season again," said Lyon. | We feel we've got a very good chance of winning the league again this year |
Lynn's only chance of silverware this season is in the Premier League, having been knocked out of the Cup and Premier Trophy. And Lyon says he's hopeful of topping the table for a third successive year. "We feel we've got a very good chance of winning the league again this year and a good win against Newcastle could help a lot," he said. "We've got Redcar the week after, home and away, there's lots of matches to ride and we're certainly going to be in the hunt." The Stars are currently seventh in the Premier League table but have up to four games in hand over their rivals, and Lyon believes they're well placed. He said: "We've only had two home matches, other teams have had four or five, but it's away from home where you win things."
