Doolan's last-heat victory clinched Lynn's win at Glasgow

King's Lynn Stars have made a good start to the Premier League season with a victory and a draw at the weekend.

The Stars opened their season with a 45-45 draw on Saturday at Workington, with Kevin Doolan top-scoring on 14.

On Sunday, they went one better with a tense 47-46 victory in Glasgow, with Doolan seeing off Shane Parker in the final heat to seal the win.

Lynn were 11 points ahead after 11 heats before Glasgow reduced their lead to a point before the last race.

Doolan's victory over former Stars rider Parker secured a 28-point weekend for him.

The Stars finished top of the Premier League standings last season but went on to lose in the play-off semi-finals.

Their first home league meeting of the 2008 season is at The Norfolk Arena on Wednesday, 16 April against Edinburgh, the tapes go up at 1930 BST.
