King's Lynn Stars have made a good start to the Premier League season with a victory and a draw at the weekend. The Stars opened their season with a 45-45 draw on Saturday at Workington, with Kevin Doolan top-scoring on 14. On Sunday, they went one better with a tense 47-46 victory in Glasgow, with Doolan seeing off Shane Parker in the final heat to seal the win. Doolan's victory over former Stars rider Parker secured a 28-point weekend for him. The Stars finished top of the Premier League standings last season but went on to lose in the play-off semi-finals. Their first home league meeting of the 2008 season is at The Norfolk Arena on Wednesday, 16 April against Edinburgh, the tapes go up at 1930 BST.
