Smith was racing at the Aragon circuit for the first time |
Oxfordshire's Bradley Smith produced a battling display in Spain to take third place in the 125cc Aragon Grand Prix. Smith qualified in sixth but an accident involving Randy Krummenacher and Marc Márquez gave the 19-year old an opportunity to improve. Spaniard Nico Terol took the chequered flag in first place ahead of fellow countryman Pol Espargaro in second. Terol now leads the championship standings, while Smith lies back in fourth place. Former championship leader Márquez has dropped to third position after failing to rejoin the race following his crash with Swiss teenager Krummenacher. The race took place at the new Aragon circuit following the failure for the organisers of the Hungarian Grand Prix to have their track ready in time for the event.
