 Ryuichi Kiyonari has won three of the last four races in BSB |
HM Plant Honda dominated round five of the British Superbike Championship at Mallory Park with Ryuichi Kiyonari winning both races from pole position. Kiyonari's team-mate Josh Brookes took two second places to leave him four points behind series leader Tommy Hill. The Louth-based team have won the last four races in the championship. Louth's Peter Hickman, on the Ultimate Racing Yamaha, picked up a point with 15th in race two, having retired from the opening race. Relentless Suzuki's Michael Laverty rounded off the podium on both races with two third places. In Supersport Lincoln's Sam Lowes jointly heads the standings with James Westmoreland after finishing second for GNS Racing Honda behind winner Billy McConnell. Boston's Ben Wilson led into the first corner of the race on the Gearlink Kawasaki but suffered tyre problems in the latter stages, finishing seventh. Alex Lowes, returning to the series on the Seton Interceptor Yamaha, retired with mechanical problems while running in the top 10. Lincoln's Ross Walker produced a surprise result in the 125GP race, taking his first ever victory. The 17-year-old, who had never previously finished inside the top 10, came second but was awarded the win after Fraser Rogers was disqualified for overtaking the safety car. Leebob Jackson from Lincoln also recorded his best ever finish with fifth position.
