Linfoot achieved a second and two third places before he crashed in June |
Knaresborough motorcyclist Dan Linfoot is targeting Cadwell Park in late August for his return after injury in the British Supersport Championship. He broke his foot in qualifying at Snetterton in late June when he was in third place overall in the competition. Linfoot, who turned 21 two weeks ago, told BBC York: "All I can hope for now is a strong return when I come back. "There'll be four races in which I'll hope to prove that I'm worthy of a good seat or a ride for next season." It's the first time in Linfoot's career he has suffered such a long lay-off, but he is continuing his recovery from the metatarsal injuries. | I have to keep my head up and keep recuperating and hope for a strong return |
"The bones are starting to heal, albeit slowly, so it's just a case of rest, the pot should come off in two weeks time," he said. "Cadwell is going to be my return, but there's a bit of a question mark over how competitive I will be. "Certainly by the race after that I'd be hoping to be knocking on the door of podium finishes again." Linfoot is keen to step up his recovery, but is unable swim, cycle or run at the moment. "I can only maintain my upper body which is only a bit of light weight work really, so that's all I'm doing here at home," he added. "It's a little bit boring but there's nothing else I can do. I have to keep my head up and keep recuperating and hope for a strong return."
