Linfoot competed in the European Superstock 600 last year |
Knaresborough's Dan Linfoot is third in the standings after four races of this year's British Supersport Championship. Linfoot finished third at the weekend in the latest round at Thruxton. He told BBC Radio York: "It's going really well. We're now four races into the championship and I've been on the podium three times. "We've eight races left and I'm in third and quite close to the leading guys in the ranking, so I'm looking forward to the rest of the season." He added: "If we can keep getting on the podium to mount a good title challenge then, come the end of the season, we should be there looking for a top position. "I'm really chuffed with how the bike's going and with the team and how everyone is working." Linfoot admitted third place at Thruxton in the fourth round came as a surprise. "Thruxton is one of the places where I've never had any good luck in any of my previous years. "I kind of just wanted to get a top five finish and get away with a good handful of points. "To come away with third place was really beneficial and I think it was a good damage limitation weekend. "I'm really happy with how that one went and I think going on to the next round at Snetterton in three weeks' time, which is another one of my bogey circuits, I think it's going to be another case of damage limitation. "If I can come away with another podium then I'll be ecstatic."
