Both Rashid and Bresnan have been included in England squads this year

England pair Tim Bresnan and Adil Rashid have both agreed new three-year contracts with Yorkshire.

Seamer Bresnan, 24, and leg-spinning all-rounder Rashid, 21, have signed deals until the end of the 2011 season.

"It is important we sign our best players up so we can build a team around them," director of cricket Martyn Moxon told BBC Radio Leeds.

"It is fantastic news that Tim Bresnan and Adil Rashid want to be part of our progress over the coming years."

Moxon added: "Both have gained international recognition and really deserve it.

"We are ensuring that the quality players we build our side around in the future are signed up."

Bresnan became the youngest player in 20 years to represent Yorkshire when he made his debut for the county in a Sunday League game in 2001 - at the age of 16 years and three months.

He made his Test debut for England against West Indies at Lord's earlier this month.

"I'm delighted to be pledging my future to Yorkshire," said Bresnan.

"It's a massive club which lures players to its atmosphere. The white rose is massive for anyone who knows the history of the club."

Rashid, who made his first-class debut in 2006, was part of the England tour party in the Caribbean earlier this year.

"I've loved playing for Yorkshire so it wasn't a big decision to extend my deal for three years," said the leg spinner.

"The county is moving in the right direction and I want to be part of its future success."
