The win was Dan Linfoot's second of the season |
Knaresborough's Dan Linfoot returned to the podium in the penultimate round of the Superstock 600 European Championship at the weekend. Linfoot recovered from qualifying in seventh to to win his first race since the second round at Assen in April. The result puts Linfoot fourth in the standings with one round to go. The 20-year old said: "I made a really good start to the race and had the right level of aggression to get through to the front." He added: "The win has been a long time coming and it's also the first time I've been on the podium since Assen because I kept getting beaten by my team-mate Gino Rea on the final lap. "On the final lap it occurred to me that I could actually win it but then I came into the top hairpin and backed the bike in too much, ran wide and two of the guys came past. "I thought it was all over, but I knew I was good into the bottom right hander so I made a big move and it paid off. It's a mega feeling and I'm really happy to get another win."
