David Knight retained his GNCC crown on Sunday with victory at the Can-Am Unadilla GNCC in New Berlin, New York. Knight powered his KTM to victory in increasingly muddy conditions, whilst nearest rival Paul Whibley ran out of fuel on the last lap of the race. Whibley's failure to finish in the top five handed Knight the title with two rounds to spare. "It's a real shame for Whibley, he's ridden well all year and didn't deserve to lose it like that," said Knight. "We didn't expect to win the championship here. I was just trying to get into the lead and enjoy the track, really."
