Bayliss set a lap record in qualifying on Saturday |
Australia's Troy Bayliss cemented his World Superbikes Championship lead with a win and second place at Brands Hatch. Bayliss took race one at the Kent circuit ahead of Briton James Toseland, with Japan's Noriyuki Haga in third.
Race two saw Haga hold off Bayliss in the closing laps to seal victory, with Aussie Andrew Pitt in third. Toseland was fifth behind Regis Laconi.
Bayliss, who has endured a poor run of form recently, now leads the title race by 77 points from Haga.
Toseland's hopes of regaining the title have dimmed as he is 11 points behind Haga in third with four rounds of races to go.

The Yorkshireman admitted he should have made changes to his bike after the first race.
"Unfortunately, the track temperature did change and my rear tyre didn't perform as well as it had done earlier," he said.
"I was lacking a lot of grip and it was making it hard to ride the bike because the rear wheel kept spinning up. It was all very disappointing."
Bayliss also admitted he had slipped up to some extent in the second race.
"Twice I let Nori past when I wanted to look at his form, and I probably shouldn't have done it a second time," he said.
"But I've increased my points lead in the championship so I'm happy with the way the weekend's gone."
Nottinghamshire's Chris Walker came seventh in race one, while British Superbike wildcard rider Tommy Hill was 11th.
Foggy Petronas' Steve Martin was 17th, but team-mate Craig Jones pulled out.
In race two, Walker was eighth and Martin 25th, while Hill and Jones failed to finish.
