Lotus Racing begin testing in Spain

Malaysian test driver Fairuz Fauzy was first behind the wheel in Spain

Lotus Racing have begun testing the type 127 car for the first time at the Circuito de Jerez in Spain.

The Norfolk-based team are putting the vehicle through its paces ahead of the new season.

Test driver Fairuz Fauzy takes the wheel on Wednesday before primary drivers Heikki Kovalainen and Jarno Trulli later in the week.

The new Lotus is the first of its kind since the team pulled out of Formula 1 more than 15 years ago.

The Malaysian-funded outfit were awarded the final grid spot for the new F1 season and join Campos GP, Manor and US F1 as one of four new teams for 2010.
