Tony Purnell (R) oversaw the transition from Jaguar to Red Bull |
Christian Horner has been confirmed as Red Bull Racing's new sporting director after a shock management reshuffle at the Formula One team. Horner, who led the successful Arden Formula 3000 outfit, comes in after the surprise departure of team principal Tony Purnell.
Managing director David Pitchforth has also left the team just three months before the start of the 2005 season.
A new technical director will be announced within the next week or so.
Purnell and Pitchforth had both been working with Red Bull following the team's purchase of the Jaguar F1 outfit.
The team have signed David Coulthard, Vitantonio Liuzzi and Christian Klien for their maiden season.
Liuzzi was with Horner last year when he won the Formula 3000 championship.
