Liuzzi was in line for a place at Sauber next season |
Red Bull Racing have asked international Formula 3000 champion Vitantonio Liuzzi to test for them later on this month. The soft drinks company, who bought Jaguar earlier this week, funded the Italian driver last season.
He will test at Jerez on 24 November with this season's Jaguar drivers Christian Klien and Bjorn Wirdheim.
"It is an exciting opportunity to be testing for Red Bull Racing," he said. "They have been very supportive to me."
Liuzzi was linked with a Sauber drive in 2005 but former world champion Jacques Villeneuve beat him to a place.
