Dudley Heathens took a 5-1 maximum from the final heat to secure a 45-45 draw in a challenge fixture against Stoke Potters at Loomer Road on Saturday. The Potters led by four points going into heat 15 but Adam Roynon and Jon Armstrong drew the scores level. Teenager James Sarjeant top-scored for Stoke with 12 points, while Armstrong and Roynon scored 12 for the Heathens. "It was a good test for us and we've learned quite a bit from the meeting," said Stoke skipper Tony Atkin. The Potters have one more challenge match remaining against Scunthorpe at Loomer Road on 16 April, before kicking off their maiden campaign in the National League at Newport 24 hours later.
