Isle of Wight finished seventh in the National League 2010 season |
Isle of Wight Islanders have signed Plymouth Devils rider Paul Starke to complete their line-up for the new National League season. The 20-year-old spent time with the Islanders during their last campaign after he was dropped by the Devils. "I can't wait to return to the Isle of Wight from Plymouth," Starke told the club website. "It's a good team, there is a good atmosphere in the pits and it's run with good management." Starke begun his speedway career in 2007 after signing for then Conference side Buxton Hitmen and he has also competed with Premier League outfit Rye House Cobras. "Rye House was good with the Premier League experience, it helped me see what I needed to do to move on in my career. I want to be confident and ready and able to do well when I get the chance." The Islanders' new season gets underway on 27 April away to the Belle Vue Aces.
