Portsmouth ladies can remain unbeaten says coach

Women's football

Portsmouth ladies boss Vanessa Raynbird believes her side can win their last six league games to secure promotion to the Women's Premier League.

Pompey lie third in the Women's Premier League Southern Division, one point off automatic promotion.

Raynbird told BBC Radio Solent: "We have a real opportunity, if we win our last six games we'll get promoted.

"We don't have to rely on others, promotion is in our hands and we're in the driving seat to end as runner-up."

We seem to be really on song at the moment, our enthusiasm when we get to the game is buzzing and we cant wait to get out there and play

Pompey play fourth place Charlton, who sit one point below the Blues in the table, on Sunday, and Raynbird has billed the fixture as the biggest game of the season so far.

"This week is our most important game, I do say that every week but you need to keep winning to gain promotion and Charlton are a very good side who have crept up the table," she said.

"But we seem to be really on song at the moment, our enthusiasm when we get to the game is buzzing and we can't wait to get out there and play.

"We will pretty much have a full strength side available for selection on Sunday, so we will hopefully come away with three points because we definitely don't want to get beat by Charlton that's for sure."
