GP2 debutants Team AirAsia have named Luiz Razia and Davide Valsecchi as their drivers for the 2011 campaign.

The pair, who had already been testing for the Norfolk outfit, will race in the Asia Series, which begins this Thursday, and the main series.

Valsecchi, 24, said: "It's such a great championship and the team and I have a lot to look forward to in GP2.

"I intend to draw on my GP2 experience to get the best results possible with one aim, to win the 2011 championship."

Italian Valsecchi, 24, debuted in GP2 in 2008 and won the Asia Series title with fellow Norfolk team iSport last year.

Brazilian Razia, 21, has also been a GP2 regular for the last three seasons and was a test driver for F1's Virgin Racing in 2010.

He said: "My relationship with the team is already fantastic and Team AirAsia has a very exciting future ahead.

"I'll use my experience to give my best in the GP2 championship and I'm sure that with the calibre of people involved in Team AirAsia we will achieve success very soon and be challenging for points, podiums and race wins whenever possible."

Valsecchi finished Monday's second day of testing at Abu Dhabi second quickest, with Razia 12th.

iSport's drivers Sam Bird and Marcus Ericcson were third and fourth respectively.

And fellow Norfolk outfit Super Nova Racing saw Fairuz Fauzy end up 17th and Johnny Cecotto 24th.
