Lowes rode for Redline KTM at Cadwell Park in May 2010 |
Lincoln racer Alex Lowes has signed for Team WFR in the Evo class of the British Superbike championship. Lowes will ride a Honda in the class which features machines with stock engines and standardised electronics. In 2010 he raced a Yamaha in British Supersport and also scored points in a stand-in BSB ride with Redline KTM. The 20-year-old said: "This is going to be one of the biggest and most professional teams in the paddock. It's a brilliant opportunity for me." Lowes, whose twin brother Sam was 2010 British Supersport champion, will ride alongside Glen Richards and Graeme Gowland in the team, which had success in Superstock and Supersport under the guise of Embassy Racing. He added: "When I heard what Team WFR had planned, I thought it would be perfect for me. "Then when I saw the set-up at the workshops and heard about the technical details and that there were three riders in the team, I was blown away."
