Storrar finished seventh at last month's Macau Grand Prix |
Scotland's Jimmy Storrar says he is looking forward to making his debut at the Isle of Man TT races in 2011. The 24-year-old from Perth will compete for Mick Charnock's TC Racing Honda/DP Coldplaning team in all classes at June's event. "I am really pleased to have finally sorted out the right team to race for at the TT," he said. Storrar recently finished seventh at the Macau Grand Prix, one place behind 15 time TT winner John McGuinness. He said: "I've looked at doing the TT for a couple of years but wanted to make sure that everything was right, and now I can't wait to get out there. "I'm looking forward to learning the course and I realise I've got a lot to learn." Team boss Mick Charnock competed in the TT Races and Manx Grand Prix before starting his own team in 2005. His team has backed both Cameron Donald and David Johnson as newcomers, in 2005 and 2010 respectively. Charnock added: "We enjoy working with talented newcomers and like to show them the ropes on the Isle of Man. "Jimmy is a class rider and I'm sure he'll have a long and successful career at the TT Races." The team has secured high spec 600cc and 1,000cc Hondas for its Isle of Man campaign.
