Australian road racer Cameron Donald has re-signed for the Northern Ireland-based Relentless TAS Suzuki team for the 2011 road racing season. The Melbourne rider had an indifferent campaign in 2010 after missing much of the previous year with a shoulder injury sustained at the Isle of Man TT. Donald will be joined by new team-mate Guy Martin who put pen to paper with the Moneymore outfit last week. Josh Brookes will ride for the team in the British Superbike championship. The 27-year-old from New South Wales, Australia, finished second in this year's British series, with five wins from 13 podiums. "To say I'm excited to have secured Josh's signature would be a bit of an understatement," said Relentless Suzuki team manager Philip Neill. "I've admired him as a rider ever since I first watched him race," he added. Josh Brookes will ride for TAS Suzuki in 2010 |
"It has all come together very well and pretty much along the same lines as the Guy Martin deal. "I'm also pleased that Josh has decided to base himself in Northern Ireland next year close to our workshop. "This will give the whole team a better chance to get to know him and I'm sure he'll enjoy the Northern Ireland way of life." Martin and Donald will race at the North West 200, IOM TT and Ulster Grand Prix. Donald notched a double for the Suzuki team at the TT in 2008. "I couldn't be happier to be racing for Relentless TAS Suzuki again in 2011," commented the Melbourne rider. "My goal, as always, is to win international road races and I know better than anyone that I need to come out fighting in 2011. "I couldn't have a better team in my corner for the job ahead and the only way I can thank Philip and Hector (Neill)'s loyalty is by winning races next season."
