Wolverhampton rider Freddie Lindgren is set to extend his stay with the Wolves into an eighth season.

The 25-year-old Swedish racer will finalise contract details next month and compete for Tarnow in the Polish league and Dackarna in his home league.

He said: "I'm quite faithful to the colours and I get used to a club."

Promoter Chris van Straaten added: "I asked him the question of whether he wanted to be here next season and he wasted no time in saying yes."

Van Straten continued: "Whilst there is still some talking to be done when he comes over I would like to think we can announce his new contract at the fans' forum on 10 January.

Everything is looking very positive for me

"We want him and he wants us so I am confident we will find some middle ground and get together for another season."

Lindgren said preparations for the new season were going well.

He said: "I am training at Centrum Elite in Stockholm, a special centre for athletes. They test your physical condition.

"I've also just returned from a three-week holiday in Australia so I'm doing some more intense training before the season begins.

"My team will continue to be the same. I have the same mechanics as before. I've signed a contract with them already. Everything is looking very positive for me."
