King's Lynn have started team building for their Elite League return by completing the signing of Danish rider Niels Kristian Iversen. The 28-year-old ends his second spell at Peterborough Panthers after being the team's 2010 captain. Iversen, a team World Cup winner, started his British speedway career at King's Lynn in 2001. "I have a lot of fond memories of King's Lynn and love the speed and shape of the track," he said. "Buster [Chapman, co-promoter] and Rob [Lyon, manager] are great guys and I am extremely excited about being part of the team and proud to be the club's first signing for 2011. | He is such a nice guy and after half an hour with him we quickly came to a deal King's Lynn co-promoter Buster Chapman |
"I am sure we will all enjoy a very successful year." Chapman added: "It must have been hard for Niels to find out that he would no longer have a team place at Peterborough through no fault of his own. "But he is such a nice guy and after half an hour with him we quickly came to a deal that proved to me what I have long believed about the majority of riders - racing is about the thrill and ambition and not about the money."
