Chapman says life in the Premier League had become "stale" |
King's Lynn Stars promoter Buster Chapman says he is confident his team can attract Elite League talent. The Stars are stepping up to the top flight for 2011 and Chapman is satisfied there are riders available. "We haven't gone in to it on a whim, we've looked at the riders that are available and the riders of our own we can use." he told BBC Radio Norfolk. "The phone's not stopped, we've been ringing around seeing what was there before we committed ourselves." King's Lynn, who have yet to make any additions ahead of the next campaign, were last in the Elite League in 2002 and have since gone on to win two Premier League titles. | We sort of went a bit stale last year, I did lose a bit of interest last year and it did worry me King's Lynn Stars promoter Buster Chapman |
The club hosted a World Cup meeting at a packed Norfolk Arena in July, which helped persuade Chapman that his side were capable of putting on Elite League speedway. "We were approached, we were thinking about it anyway, so for us it was a natural progression into that league," he said. "We have been thinking about it for a few years but shied away from it because of the financial situation. "This year the finances worked out right for us and it's worked out perfect for us. "We sort of went a bit stale last year, I did lose a bit of interest last year and it did worry me. So the change is going to do us good."
