King's Lynn Stars promoter Keith Chapman hopes his line-up changes pay off ahead of next year. The Stars, who finished the season ninth in the Premier League, brought in Lasse Bjerre and Adam Roynon in mid-season with the next campaign in mind. Chapman told BBC Radio Norfolk: "When we were having a tough time all we could do was build towards next year. "We thought 'let's not kill the year off, let's use it to our advantage and get a good start next year'." The Norfolk outfit hope Bjerre, 16, and Roynon, 22, see substantial decreases in their averages when November's green sheets are released, freeing up space for five more experienced riders. | We just need to get the next five to fit them with them now, we've got two to start, five to go King's Lynn promoter Keith Chapman |
"They came in on a high average and we hoped we could work it to our advantage that they start the next season on a lower average," added Chapman. "We just need to get the next five to fit them with them now, we've got two to start, five to go. "Once the AGM [in November] is out of the way we'll know what points we can build to, hopefully it's still 42-and-a-half. "Hopefully we can build a winning side again." Lynn finished the season with a home win over Premier League play-off champions Newcastle. Bjerre scored paid 13 while Oliver Allen totalled 11 in Wednesday's 51-45 victory.
