Berwick Bandits pursue Magnus Karlsson capture

Magnus Karlsson
Karlsson has been told he can leave Scunthorpe this season

Berwick team boss John Anderson has revealed he has been in talks with Swedish rider Magnus Karlsson over a move to Shielfield Park for 2011.

Scunthorpe have told Karlsson he is free to find another club but any deal rests on his ability to combine riding in Sweden with his Berwick duties.

"Magnus has expressed positive interest in joining the Bandits," Anderson said.

"Only if he can be assured of accessing suitable flights to and from Sweden to allow his commuting."

Anderson added: "Until airlines publish their schedules for next summer, these should be out pretty soon, Magnus can't commit himself to any concrete plans, and therefore no transfer has been agreed, no signing has been made.

"We'd like to sign him, but right now, that's up to the airlines, not any difficulties over terms or transfer fees."
