Berwick Bandits have confirmed that an orthaopaedic operation on the broken neck of rider Adrian Rymel on Wednesday has been successfully completed.

Rymel, 34, underwent surgery at a specialist unit in Glasgow after Saturday's crash at Edinburgh and will now be assessed for spinal damage.

The club have also revealed that Rymel has been joined by his family, who have flown in from the Czech Republic.

Currently there is no timescale as to his return to full fitness.
