HM Plant Honda's Ryuichi Kiyonari snatched his third British Superbike title after a hat-trick of victories in the final round at Oulton Park. His team-mate in the Louth-based squad, Josh Brookes, claimed three top-five finishes to take the runner-up spot. Suzuki's Tommy Hill, who led going into the final round, was second in race one but crashed spectacularly in race two. His team repaired his bike but he could only finish fifth in the final race. Kiyonari, who was also BSB champion in 2006 and 2007, ended the season on 649 points with Brookes on 625 and Hill on 620. Louth's Peter Hickman was 14th on the Ultimate Racing Yamaha in the weekend's first race on Saturday but retired from race two and was unable to make the start of race three. In Supersport Boston's Ben Wilson led from start to finish on the Gearlink Kawasaki for his second win of the season to seal third place in the championship. Lincoln's Sam Lowes, who had been crowned champion in the previous round, finished eighth after a first-lap collision damaged the handlebars on his GNS Racing Honda, while Alex Lowes was 14th on the Seton Interceptor Yamaha after being penalised for jumping the start. Woodhall Spa's Steve Plater rounded off his injury-hit Superstock 1000 season for HM Plant Honda with fourth place in the final race, with Lincoln's Lee Jackson 12th for Buildbase Kawasaki.
