Adams was Swindon's top points scorer in 2008 |
Swindon Robins captain Leigh Adams makes his final home appearance at the Abbey as his side take on Coventry Bees on Thursday. Australian Adams plans to quit British speedway at the end of the season after 20 years in the sport. The 38-year-old told BBC Wiltshire: "I haven't really thought about it as I've been so busy. I'm trying not to think about finishing. "I wanted to really push all year and I think I've done a pretty good job." Fellow Robin Simon Stead added that the team wanted to give the home support something to cheer at the end of a season that started poorly. He said: "They've stayed strong throughout the season. It's been a hard season and disappointing for everybody involved."
