Despite the win Lyon's Stars remain 12 points off the play-offs |
King's Lynn Stars got back to winning ways at home to Birmingham in what boss Rob Lyon coined a 'perfect' meeting. A late rally from the Stars put the Brummies to the sword in Wednesday's 49-41 Premier League victory. Lyon told BBC Radio Norfolk: "I think it was your perfect meeting for the home team in many ways, the racing was very good. "We managed to get all three league points against a good side in only our second meeting with this new team." King's Lynn began the process of making wholesale changes to their roster in early August in an attempt to turn around their stuttering fortunes. Lyon asked for patience from supporters as the new riders bedded in, and now believes the waiting game could be paying off. | I've signed a two-year deal, I'm pleased about that, the fans are awesome and it's great to be here King's Lynn rider Adam Roynon |
"All this was obviously a transitional period, we knew that and we knew we'd be able to strengthen in September," he said. "Bringing [Adam] Roynon in at reserve was obviously going to make us stronger. "The meetings we've had have been against quality opposition, if we'd ridden, with all due respect, the lower teams at home we'd probably have nicked two wins already." Roynon, 21, made the switch from Workington in August and has settled in well at the Norfolk Arena. "I've always wanted to come here, ever since I was 15 riding for Swindon Sprockets against the junior team here," he said. "I feel part of the furniture now and I can't wait for next season. "I've signed a two-year deal, I'm pleased about that, the fans are awesome and it's great to be here."
