Bruised Wolverhampton capture an away point at Swindon

Wolverhampton bounced back from the early loss of two key riders to claim a bonus point in a 48-45 loss at Swindon.

Grand Prix star Freddie Lindgren and Australian Ty Proctor were both knocked out in a horrific heat five crash.

But Freddie's little brother Ludvig and skipper Tai Woffinden helped the visitors battle adversity, combining for 25 points between them.

"It was a bad smash, both Freddie and Ty were in trouble, they were knocked out cold," said team boss Peter Adams.

"There was no way they could have continued. Obviously they are going to be feeling rough and we need to take a look at them with the next few days in mind."

It's one of those results where you feel really satisfied

Freddie Lindgren has already been withdrawn from the Wolves team for Saturday's Elite League Pairs event at Ipswich, and he is a doubt for Monday's return fixture with Swindon.

The bonus point was secured with a 5-1 maximum in the final heat from Woffinden and Danish star Nicolai Klindt after veteran Adam Skornicki had earlier dragged the visitors back into contention with an outstanding tactical ride.

"It was a brilliant result, Ludvig was sensational," Adams added, "It's one of those results where you feel really satisfied and hopefully there is nothing long term in terms of their injuries."
