HM Plant Honda's Ryuichi Kiyonari took three podium finishes in round eight at Brands Hatch to take a 10-point lead in the British Superbike Championship.

The Japanese two-time BSB champion was third in Saturday's opening race before twice coming second behind Kawasaki wild-card rider Tom Sykes on Sunday.

Kiyonari's team-mate Josh Brookes had led the standings after finishing second to Alistair Seeley on Saturday.

The Australian crashed out of race one on Sunday and was sixth in race two.

That allowed Suzuki's Tommy Hill, who was championship leader going into the weekend, to move back ahead of Brookes into second.

Louth's Peter Hickman was 19th, 14th and 13th in the three races on the Ultimate Racing Yamaha.

The championship now moves to Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire, after which the top six riders will go into the new title shoot-out over the final three rounds of the season.

Kiyonari, Brookes, Hill, Michael Rutter and Michael Laverty have already clinched their places in the shoot-out, with Seeley, John Laverty and Stuart Easton set to battle for sixth in the standings.

In Supersport, championship leader Sam Lowes kept up his run of podium finishes with second place on the GNS Racing Honda, with Yamaha's James Westmoreland winning to cut Lowes' advantage to 30 points.

Boston's Ben Wilson, who led into the first corner of the race, was eighth on the Gearlink Kawasaki while Alex Lowes finished 16th, having been as high as second behind his brother in the early stages on the Seton Interceptor Yamaha before sliding off and remounting.
