Harvey has finished in the top three in all but one race this season

Lincolnshire racing driver Jack Harvey hopes to extend his lead in the Formula BMW Europe series with victories in round five at Hockenheim in Germany.

Harvey, 17, has a 35-point advantage after five wins and two further podium finishes in eight races.

He said: "With the good start to the season behind us, we're carrying plenty of momentum into the Hockenheim event.

"There's no reason why we shouldn't go for another two trips to the podium, preferably on to the top step again."

Harvey and the Fortec Motorsport team had a successful pre-season test at the German circuit and he hopes that will stand them in good stead.

"It was probably our most competitive official test before the season got under way," he said.

"We ended up second fastest, which showed the speed was there, especially at a circuit we had never been to, so it should be a good weekend for me and the team."
