Delroy Facey happy to battle for Lincoln City place

Lincoln City's Delroy Facey says competition between him and Drewe Broughton for a first-team place will be good for both strikers.

Facey signed a one-year deal with the Imps after his release by Notts County.

He told BBC Lincolnshire: "Drewe's similar to me, a target man, and there will be good competition for a place.

"Every time you go out it makes you perform better, knowing that if you don't there's someone else ready to step in. It's the same for Drewe."

Facey scored once in 10 appearances while on loan with the Imps last season, and said he owed manager Chris Sutton a debt of gratitude.

"Lincoln were brilliant for me," he said.

"At the time I wasn't playing any first-team football. I was in the reserves until Lincoln came in for me and more or less revived my career."
