Harvey is driving in the BMW series for a second season |
Lincolnshire racing driver Jack Harvey won both races in the Valencia round of the Formula BMW Europe Series. The 17-year-old led both races from pole position to the chequered flag. The victories were Harvey's third and fourth of the year and has given him a 33-point lead at the top of the Championship. Harvey, who drives for the Fortec Motorsport team said: "It doesn't get any better than that, pole and the top step of the podium for both races." He continuedL "It's definitely my best race weekend so far. I knew coming into the weekend that I'd have to start from at least the front row to be in with a chance of going for a win again. "I got a good start in both races and once I knew I'd got away I just kept my head down and my concentration up as I knew that the slightest mistake might put me into one of the walls. "The team gave me a great car and I knew we had the pace to achieve the double." Harvey is next in action in two weeks time at Silverstone.
